I think that the Malcontents missed the meeting a few years ago with the paving company. They explained to us that if we did not go down to bedrock on the roads that all the cracks that we already there would eventually reappear. The Delegates voted not to spend the extra money to have no cracks and went cheap. We have cracks. This is another frivolous lawsuit by the same people who sued before. Who is going to pay for their lawyer. I certainly don't want to. If you go to the meeting on Tuesday let them know you are not interested in losing a lawsuit.

The Intersection of Borden St. and Century Blvd. Dilemma

Why in the world are people wanting to change what has been the same for the last forty years at the Intersection of Borden St. and Century Blvd! I and many other people use that all the time. You just need to be careful , like any where in the village. There are problems at all intersections here in the village with probably more problems at those . Leave it the way it is now !

Why are there 8 umbrellas at the smaller Kent pool and only 7 at the larger Camden pool?
Makes no sense to me !

Help Pass the JOLT Act & Retiree Visa for Canadian retirees

Here is a link to a petition that requires 5,000 signatures to help Pass the JOLT Act & Retiree Visa for Canadian retirees - it would enable Canadians to legally stay in the USA for 8 months instead of 6.  On March 23, 2014 they had 972 signatures, today (April 17, 2014) they have 1,221.  I feel we can get that number way up with the help of some of us here in Century Village.

HEARTBLEED - A VARIANT MAN IN THE MIDDLE ATTACK - HOW TO TEST A SITES SAFETY

Heartbleed is a vulnerability in a security system known as Open SSL (Secure Socket Layer) Encryption. Stated simply, when you connect to a sites server, a hacker can re-direct the link to himself and send a pulse (called a heartbeat), causing the server to dump a chunk of data about you, which the hacker can capture. In technical terms, the bug is know as a "Buffer Over-Read" flaw, due to a lack of  buffer boundary, coding which is the code that must be fixed.

The purpose of this Post is not to confuse, but rather to offer a method to test if the Sites to which you connect have had this critical flaw fixed. Response to Olga's Rant On the Other Blog

I wrote a similar response to Olga's rant on the Goose and Gander. Of course it was not printed. Too truthful for them. The reason that Dorothy Tetro could not be nominated for Treasurer was that she was no longer a resident of the village and by the by laws could not be our treasurer. Why would we want to have a treasurer who does not live here handling our money??

UCO is in receipt of a request for all data related to the election of March 7, 2014. The requestors are Mr. Solomon, Ms. Wolkenstein, Mr. Karpf and Mr. Grossman. They wish to verify the veracity of the results. This plants a seed in the body politic of some sort of impropriety, which is absurd. So, in the interest of full transparency, I am herewith releasing to all interested parties every scrap of paper generated in the March 7, 2014 UCO election. Well, it would appear that the CV Unity and law suit committee is now sending out Emails to CV Residents.

Some folks have asked me if I released your Email addresses, the answer is absolutely not, nor will I do so!!!

The essence of what I have been told, is that the organizers are requesting that Associations contribute funding to enable what is in essence a suit against themselves. The amount sought initially is reported to be $20,000.00!!!

DO NOT FEED WILDLIFE

I just got back from the bridge between Stratford and Chatham.  There is a sign posted not to feed the wildlife.  I stopped a couple feeding the ducks and pointed to the sign.  They said they couldn't understand because they have been watching people feed the birds all week.  I explained to them that they are doing more harm to the birds than good and making them depend on us for food.  Also, these birds cross the street and cause traffic problems that can also harm them.  For those of you out there, if you love animals like I do, please let them fend for themselves as nature attended them to.
