Delegate Assembly
I hate to be a skutch, but when is the September Delegate Assembly going to be available online?
SUNSHINE FOR FINANCE COMMITTEE
I
missed the August Finance Cmte meeting and when I tried to track down
info I found it was not listed in Open Meetings list, or on the Blog
or IFFI. There were no preliminary packages handed out. Fortunately
the PRPC and anti-WiFi were alerted.
I thought there would be a draft budget in the Delegate's package, silly me. And no Finance minutes yet. I did get a draft budget today. Some budget packets at reception in UCO would be useful.
One surprise item is the added line for Golf Course $1/each monthly = $94,250.00
What was the Finance Cmte thinking, from what I could almost hear on the blog video they did not discuss the repeated refusals by the Delegate Assembly to fund this legal pie-in-the-sky.
Note: After the disappointment of the first $25K gone,
the Delegate Assy voted NO to 99c motion in Sept 2012, and 98c motion failed,
2013 year of donation fund raising, ok.
In August Fausto asked for an assessment - UCO refused.
Then a Molinaro motion to take $30K from 2012 budget, Delegates voted NO.
In September the Delegates voted NO to the Golf line item that had been inserted in the budget by the Finance Cmte. Although it was a majority vote it was not the required 51% of the quorum because of non-voters.
The Delegates position is clear - 4 refusals for Golf money. There are many villagers who want Reflection Bay, many who do not want to enrich lawyers, many who have been disgusted by the behavior of Proact and PRPC, and many who are furious at the Finance Cmte actions.
The next Finance Meeting date is on the Blog and you can voice opinions only. (tell me if I'm wrong)
The next opportunity for the Delegates to change a line item in the budget will be at the October Delegate Assembly.
Let's hope there is better communication and no changes of dates.

SOME SAY . . . .
The price of Wi-Fi is too high,
Some say.
But it's really a very good buy,
Some say.
It's a security nightmare,
Some say.
It's not if you use it right,
Some say.
Get with the times,
Some say.
Enough of the newfangled gadgets,
Some say.
Who's right? Who's wrong?
Maybe both have their points,
Some say.
Maybe friends can disagree,
Some say.
Some say.

Act of the Board of Directors."
Here
is a start to review Jean Dowling's motion at today's Del Assy -
UCO
Bylaws 11/2/12
F. Quorum and Voting
"Unless
otherwise provided in the Bylaws or otherwise required under the
“Florida not-for-profit Corporation Act”, if
a quorum is present when a vote is taken, the affirmative vote of a
majority of the Delegates present is the act of the Board of
Directors."
Here
are the basic elements of Robert's Rules, used by most organizations:
1.
Motion: To introduce a new piece of business or propose a decision or
action, a motion must be made
by a group member ("I move that......") A second motion
must then also be made (raise your hand
and say, "I second it.") After limited discussion the group
then votes on the motion. A majority
vote is required for the motion to pass (or quorum as specified in
your bylaws.)
I
believe that the Board
of Directors has now voted 4 times NOT to give money to Golf/PRPC
related legal causes. We have agreed they will operate on donations
which allows for wide variations of individual opinions.

My WiFi Savings
I'm
looking forward to WiFi.
I
will be able to save $25/month on internet connection, some people
pay $50 and $80 for deluxe connection services.
I
will be able to save $21 (29-8) month on local phone service going
from AT&T to VOIP.
I
will be able to save $10-$wow/month on long distance going from ECG
to VOIP.
When
I have a smart phone I can save all minute charges, no charge on
WiFi.
and
I will be connected wherever I am in the Village.
and
then there is Skype, and VoipBuster, and Google calls ...
Suicidal
Guy
refuses to get out of pool despite thunder and lightning all around
this afternoon (Security tried too).
People
who walk in Perimeter road instead of on pathway.
People
who continue to drive car when their faculties are failing.
Just
sayin'!

Time for WiFi
WiFi is on an unstoppable course where it will reveal itself as the prevalent communications technology of choice. It is only after its adoption here that WiFi will reveal its true power and savings. Look at the internet across the world, If you want to see it sparkle day and night see http://internetcensus2012.bitbucket.org/images/geovideo.gif
Let's make Florida sparkle more. Do not be distracted by a couple of malcontents who want to hold back the whole village because of their idiotic personal vendetta against the President of UCO.

Somebody took the Amtrack Auto-Train from Lorton to Sanford?
I am thinking to take the Amtrak Auto-Train from Lorton VA to Sanford FLA next November to come to CV.
Does somebody took it? What do you think about it?
Were you able to sleep? Was about your experience?
Thank you!

SAY NO TO SYRIA!
Hi folks ,
I just sent an E -Mail to My US Senator and My US Congressman urging them to vote no on attacking Syria . America has spent enough treasure and lives on the politician's Vietnam , Iraq and Afghan Wars. Spend our tax dollars on putting people back to work and taking care of the vets who have had their lives and their families destroyed by these wars to enrich the Military Industrial Complex . The Middle East is not our responsibility, the American middle class is hanging on by a thread and these loony politicians want to get America in another war. If They vote yes on Syria , vote them out of office in their next election. I'm so disgusted with the whole lot of them.
Tell them Enough!

WIFi Meeting
Homeliest Competition
Who has homeliest face in CV? This is Florida Softshell Turtle (Apalone ferox) ferox means ferocious. This lady is as big as a large dinner plate and can bite off the end of your finger. She is probably looking for a place to lay her eggs in Sussex! The snorkel nose is for hanging out under water.
Florida softshell turtles are almost entirely aquatic, but can move fast both in water and on land. They are commonly seen basking in the sun on logs or muddy banks or in floating vegetation. Florida softshell turtles are known for being extremely aggressive and will snap or scratch at anything within reach with their sharp jaws and claws if they are handled or feel threatened.

To Lovely Olga:
No one is legally permitted to post anything on another's property and
yesterday you and your malcontents posted an untrue letter about our
brilliant and honest President, David Israel, on I believe all the Association's
bulletin boards. I suggest that you and your malcontents go to all the
bulletin boards that you posted on yesterday and remove the untruthful
garbage and put them in the blue bins that is for paper and if you refuse
to do so I believe you will be reprimanded. You seem to enjoy doing
unlawful gestures which to me I would find that very boring.

MALCONTENTS ORCHESTRATE ATTACK ON VILLAGE WIFI BUDGET ITEM
Hi all
-
Today Our UCO Treasurer conducted an excellent meeting of the Finance Committee. The Agenda was to examine and vote on the first pass of the UCO budget for 2014!
-
The meeting proceeded very well as line item after line item was debated; until we arrived at the line item for Wi-Fi.
-
At this point an orchestrated attack on the Wi-Fi initiative was launched by four persons. The same four persons who regularly disrupt our Delegate Assembly meeting every month, and who have done so for almost three years.
-
Two of these unit owners are actually suing us and seeking to be paid some $390,000.00.
-
In due course of time the budget will come before the Delegate Assembly, I urge our Delegates to consider the many benefits that Wi-Fi will bring to our Village, and to reject the malcontents attack on this forward looking initiative.
-
Vote Yes on the Wi-Fi budget line, don't let a few malcontents crash a project of benefit to us all.

PS: Don't miss the Malcontents try to kill Wi-Fi in the video below. Go out to 1Hour : 48 Min. and watch 4 malcontents in turn in a clearly orchestrated attack.

THE TREND TOWARD MORE BLOGS
I guess it's been there for a while, but I just noticed the icon on this blog to conveniently switch over to Bob's blog. This is a trend worth considering: Have your own blog, and then you won't be kicked off another blog, and you can say what you want.
Perhaps in time we will all be doing this and find it therapeutic. By using two or three different blog names (one could be Anonymous) I could have a pretty hot argument with myself. Most of us argue with ourselves anyway. This way we really settle the issue. We could rake that Anonymous guy over the coals, too. Imagine, not disclosing who he is!
This gets the bad feelings out of my system. Now I can step outside and be friendly to my neighbor for a change. No axe to grind. No beef to settle. Old pals again.
The new trend definitely has some possibilities........

REFLECTION BAY LEGAL QUESTIONS

If the Delegates approve and this line item is passed, UCO will become a client of the PRPC Attorney, and UCO will dispense the funds.
So, if the 3 judge panel (EN-BANC) finds for the Developer, PRPC might appeal, or might fold their tents.
In either case, they will not have direct control of the funds.

Don4060 said...If PRPC loses this appeal, will they take their case to the next level, whatever that is? If legal funding from UCO is approved by the Delegates, will UCO be committed to PRPC's legal fight regardless where it leads, or can UCO independently decide to cut their losses and "fold their tents"?
Another thought- if the Developer loses, and decides to appeal, will CV homeowners be committed to funding another appeals process?
Sorry for the battery of questions- i guess what I am trying to figure out is - where does this end? The US Supreme Court? Do we want to fund that?

feedback please - initially and since I moved here almost 5 yrs ago, I have purchased the FEMA flood insurance tho neighbors have suggested I don't need it - being from the North, I have not yet overcome my hurricane paranoia -----do I really need it? The renewal notice just arrived and zoom - the premium really increased - probably due to new FEMA flood maps ---which I have examined ---am I just really paranoid or does anyone else in CV purchase it? Thanks to the CV branch of the Oracle of Delphi for input.
